The school is fortunate in having members of staff who are willing to give up their free time to provide additional activities for the children’s benefit out of school hours, either at lunchtime or after school. It is hoped that parents will co-operate in allowing their children to take advantage of these additional learning opportunities by encouraging them to attend meetings and practices regularly. Subject to interest and to the availability of staff there are normally many opportunities for various sporting and musical activities as well as drama and computer activities.
If children are required to stay after school they will either be told a regular day each week or told the previous day so that parents will know that children may be home later. If an after school activity is cancelled, we will inform you using our school text messaging service.

Enjoying Stories is a lunchtime club run by Mrs Rooney and Miss Cox and is held on a Wednesday and Thursday. The aim is to encourage KS2 children to share and make stories with children from KS1 and most importantly to enjoy reading. We have had fantastic feedback from children, parents and teachers!
“How many more sleeps is it until book club?” – Archie and Callan (KS1)
“I love making books!” – Elsie (KS1)
“I like helping kids with their reading and I know it makes them better at it.” – Edward (KS2)
“It’s good helping the little children to learn.” – Rubi (KS2)
“They are learning, as well as having fun!” – Auri and Ellice (KS2)
“It’s amazing and the children are so keen to go. As soon as they come back to class they tell me how they have helped the younger children. So many other children in my class want to join in too.” – Miss Tuhey
“Edward takes book club very seriously and chooses books from home to share with his reading partner.” – Edward’s mum
Macmillan - Thank You
Thank you to everyone who supported our Macmillan Coffee Morning and Cake Sale last Friday. We raised a fantastic £244.89 for this brilliant charity.
We know that a lot of our families have been supported by Macmillan and so it is always nice to be able to give something back.
