Friends of Air Balloon (F.A.B.) is a Registered Charity (no. 1163663) made up of parents; carers and staff volunteers who organise fundraising events for the school. The aim is to be able to provide some of the nice ‘extras’ that the school is unable to finance from the main budget and to enhance the educational experiences of the pupils at Air Balloon Hill Primary School.
Every year, we make a financial contribution of £90 per class towards the cost of an educational trip (£2,520 in total for the 28 classes); we buy Christmas Presents and Easter Eggs for all of the children in the school as well as extra items to boost the children’s experiences of the school curriculum.
During the year, we organise lots of fun fundraising events and activities including the discos in the autumn and spring, Christmas and Summer School Fayres; Bingo Nights; Cake Sales and Christmas Card Sales. All of our fundraising events, whether big or small are really important to our ability to provide for the children at Air Balloon.
In April 2015 we joined PTA UK (www.pta.org.uk) which is a charity supporting Parent Teacher Associations across the UK. They provide us with advice, support and resources to help us maximise our fundraising.
Our wonderful logo was designed by Zoi in Polaris Class and we’re really proud to use it on all of our publicity.
