Learning Support Assistant – BG5
Air Balloon Hill Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive and committed team. The successful candidate will be working in a Reception classroom supporting a pupil who has a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
The successful candidate will be well organised, have strong communication skills and will work effectively as part of a team. They will be able to demonstrate initiative and will have a commitment to raising standards. We are looking for someone who is able to build positive relationships with pupils and has experience working with children with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition. The successful candidate will have a range of effective, positive behaviour management skills. We can offer the successful candidate experience working in a large school with experienced, skilled staff and a supportive pastoral team.
This vacancy for a Learning Support Assistant will be appointed on a fixed term contract, starting on 29th January until 31st August 2020, pending a review of the staffing structure and SEND provision for the following academic year.
19.5 hours per week (8.30am – 3.30pm with a 30-minute lunch break
Term time only with the requirement to attend on two of the school’s inset days (from September if applicable)
Salary to be paid on the Bristol Grade 5 scale £8,269 (actual annual salary).
Starting date: 29th January 2020
