UKS2 Class Teacher – Maternity Leave

Required from January 2020, an excellent teacher to cover maternity leave for an UKS2 class.

This position is full time and fixed term for one year to cover the substantive post holder’s maternity leave and will terminate on 31st December 2020 or upon their return if earlier.

This position also has a possible middle leadership opportunity supporting achievement in Years 5 & 6, for which a TLR of £2796 is payable. This will be discussed further at interview.

Air Balloon Hill Primary is a large and successful school in East Bristol. In April 2018 we were judged good by OfSTED.

School Meals Supervisory Assistant

We currently have a vacancy for a new member of staff to join our team of School Meals Supervisory Assistants to look after the children during the lunch period ensuring that the children enjoy safe and happy lunchtimes. 

Our dining hall team, under the direction of the Kitchen Manager, work in our dining halls supervising the children with their hot dinners or assisting the children with packed lunches.   Duties include setting out tables and benches, laying out cutlery, mugs and drinking water and ensuring that the dining environments remain clean and safe making sure that any spills are cleaned up promptly.  Staff working in the packed lunch hall assist children with their packed lunches as required. 

Our playmakers, working under the direction of the Deputy Headteacher, supervise the children in our play areas which include a Scrapstore Playpod, a climbing area and an active trail as well as provision for traditional games.  Playmakers are expected to interact with the children while continuing to be vigilant, ensuring safe play, and often work with an individual class or year group building a rapport with the children and their class teacher.

The ability to work as part of a team is essential to the role and we are looking for an individual who is prepared to support our kind and caring ethos towards both the children and other members of staff.  You will be joining an established team of friendly, hardworking and dedicated lunchtime staff committed to ensuring that the children enjoy lunchtimes and stay safe.

The hours of work are 11.35am – 1.35pm, Monday to Friday during term time. 

The post attracts a salary on the BG2 scale, currently £9.00 per hour before deductions.

We are looking to appoint a hard-working and dedicated

Cleaner

to join our established friendly team from December 2019.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a member of our Site Team ensuring that our school premises are kept clean and tidy providing a safe environment for our children to develop and learn.

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Site Manager and will receive all relevant training.  Duties include ensuring all toilet areas are clean and hygienic, classrooms are clean and tidy and halls, corridors and other areas provide a safe, clean and welcoming environment. 

Hours of work:  3.30pm – 5.30pm Monday-Friday

(term time only with an additional 34 hours to be worked as directed during school holidays)

Salary to be paid on the Bristol Grade 2 Scale, currently £9 per hour before deductions.

Kitchen Assistant Vacancy

Stratos Galley is Air Balloon Hill Primary School’s in-house catering service providing nutritious, high quality mid-day meals for children and staff compliant with the School Food Standards.

We currently have a vacancy for a Kitchen Assistant.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about serving quality food to children and who is willing to work within an established and friendly team under the direction of the Kitchen Manager.  Duties will include preparing fruit and vegetables, preparing items served on the Salad Bar, setting up the dining hall, serving the children and staff, washing up and cleaning of equipment and other tasks as directed by the Kitchen Manager.

Ideally you will have experience of working within the education catering sector, but above all hold a passion for preparing and serving food to children in a friendly manner, encouraging them to try new things and make a positive contribution to the overall meal time experience at Air Balloon.

The position of Kitchen Assistant attracts a salary on the BG2 scale of £9 per hour before deductions.

The post holder must hold a Level 2 certificate in Food Safety and Hygiene.  Training for this can be arranged if necessary for the successful applicant.
