Fire of London

Unfortunately, this year we have been unable to create our houses out of cereal boxes and set them on fire in the playground, to demonstrate how the Fire of London spread.  Instead, we’ve uploaded a video of last years’ fire for you to see.

What we are learning this term:

In terms 3 and 4 our Inquiry Project is Fire, fire! We are learning about the Great Fire of London. To find out more about our Inquiry Project, click here: Yr 2 Inquiry Project Letter – Term 3

Art Sale

On Wednesday 11th December our Year 2 classes held an art sale for parents and carers to raise money to adopt an endangered animal.  Each class aimed to raise £36 so that they could adopt one of 4 different animals.

There were some fantastic pieces of art on sale and as always, our parents and carers were extremely generous with their donations.  In total, the 4 classes raised £283.24.  Thank you to everyone for their generosity.

Explorer Dome Visit

On Monday 11th November, Year 2 were visited by the Explorer Dome.  We looked at some of the world’s habitats – from rain forests to dry deserts and the freezing arctic. We looked at the animals who live in these environments, their behaviour and how they adapt using camouflage.
