Personal, Social and Health Education enables children to become healthy, independent and responsible members of our community. We encourage children to explore a range of issues in a caring, sympathetic and supportive environment. We base our timetabled weekly PSHE session of the SEAL programme (social and emotional aspects of learning).
Through each year, a variety of teaching and learning approaches are used that incorporate ‘circle time’ which is used to develop children’s responses to key issues. We also believe that PSHE skills and attributes are developed throughout the school day and across the whole curriculum.
Sex and Relationships Education (SRE) is an integral part of our PSHE and science curriculum and is presented within a moral, family orientated framework. It includes the use of carefully selected video materials which parents are invited to view prior to the children. Parents have the right to withdraw their children from sex education.
