Year 3 – Jupiter

Take a look at our work and displays. Our Working walls help us learn – the content builds as the term progresses. See how our skills develop over the course of the academic year.

Term 3 WOW Day

Jupiter class loved making newspaper towers as part of our term 3 wow day.  We were looking for the tallest but also the sturdiest in an “earthquake”.  Each group had a limited amount of newspaper, string and sellotape with which to create their masterpiece.  Team SRI (Sophie, Ruby and Isla) narrowly won.

Jupiter Term 2 Highlights

Last term ended on a fantastic note with Sophie winning the year 3 spelling bee.

We also had a great party with a visit from Santa

Jupiter have had a fantastic first term

Here are some highlights from our last week of term.  In Outdoor PE this term we have been working on our hockey skills.  Each table competed to represent the class and our winning table was the Green Snakes.  Green Snakes  (with emergency sub Rowan!) then went on to narrowly beat Titan’s winning team.  On Tuesday we took part in the final against Saturn class and were victorious!  Congratulations to Ruby, Bailey, James, Isaac, Nasreen and Rowan!  Well done for doing a fantastic job on representing our class!

We would also like to thank the many parents who came to our End Wow:  Stone Age weaving.  The end results were fantastic and everyone had a great time.

All term we have been receiving Stone Age homework that the children have been working so hard on.  I was particularly impressed with James K and James M’s models of Stonehenge and just had to share them with you.

Have a great half-term

Miss Bailey

On our Stone Age Wow Day Jupiter class took part in a stone age fashion show with the rest of year 3.  Here we are on the catwalk!

Also on our Stone Age Wow Day, Jupiter class did some stone age cave paintings using charcoal and chalk.  To get the effect of drawing in a cave, we turned our tables on their sides and arranged material to block out the light.  The class loved being tucked away in their own private cave.
