This term in PE we have been playing tag rugby. The children have really enjoyed learning the different skills and techniques. They have been working in teams of six or seven. Tag rugby requires speed and accuracy which they have definitely used! As you can see they’re passing the ball to each other and trying not to be tagged! Overall this has been a fun and enjoyable sport to play!
The Underfall Yard
We started our Year 6 ‘wow’ trip at the Underfall Yard to find out how Bristol is kept safe from flooding, we found out about Bristol’s harbour and how hydraulic pumps are used to open the sluice paddles to let water out. A key fact we found out is it is often called the Floating Harbour as the water level remains constant and it is not affected by the state of the tide on the river.
