Year 6 – Comet

Term 1 learning- Well done Comet on a great Term 1. Here are a few photos taken over the term to show you learning in geography and literacy.

A special well done to our spelling bee champ- very proud!

This term in PE we have been playing tag rugby. The children have really enjoyed learning the different skills and techniques. They have been working in teams of six or seven. Tag rugby requires speed and accuracy which they have definitely used! As you can see they’re passing the ball to each other and trying not to be tagged! Overall this has been a fun and enjoyable sport to play!

Extreme Weather

We have been looking at art linked to our topic extreme weather, look at our art work ‘the great wave’.

We also had a go at trying to paint a tornado.

We hope you enjoy- we really enjoyed the process!

The Underfall Yard

We started our Year 6 ‘wow’ trip at the Underfall Yard to find out how Bristol is kept safe from flooding, we found out about Bristol’s  harbour and how hydraulic pumps are used to open the sluice paddles to let water out. A key fact we found out is it is often called the Floating Harbour as the water level remains constant and it is not affected by the state of the tide on the river.

Displays and Children’s Work

Take a look at our work and displays. Our Working walls help us learn – the content builds as the term progresses. See how our skills develop over the course of the academic year.
